Exciting news – I’m now offering Lactate Threshold Testing to help you train smarter and achieve your performance goals! This test will provide you with personalized heart rate zones to optimize your training and recovery.

What You’ll Get:

  • Comprehensive blood lactate testing done on a treadmill
  • A detailed report outlining your personalized training zones based on your lactate data

  • Detailed lactate curve analysis identifying both your aerobic and anaerobic thresholds

During the Test: The test involves a treadmill session where we’ll measure your blood lactate levels through quick and simple finger pricks (similar to checking blood glucose levels) at progressive intensities. This helps determine your lactate threshold and provides an accurate breakdown of your ideal training zones.

In-Home Assessments: Currently, I’m offering in-home assessments either at my place in Wainwright or your home (if you have a treadmill and a compatible chest strap). For those outside Wainwright, a mileage surcharge will apply.

Who can benefit from lactate threshold testing?

Runners of all levels are encouraged to do this test, especially if you have race or performance goals in mind. Overuse injuries are very common for runners, and training parameters such as how fast you are running are often to blame (i.e. if you often run too hard on easy run days). The test provides more certainty behind your running, helps you to improve your performance, know what kind of training you need to include more of (i.e. more base building, more speed runs, etc.) and can help you avoid injury. Plus, it helps give you an idea of your current capacity and how to improve it.
